Hi, well today is September 11 and I guess I should get this thing off my chest... I told myself I would but I didn't want to do it before now because I was afraid of jinxing it somehow. I've already told a few people but most of the people linked to my gallery probably don't know about it...

Okay, here it is... Three months ago, on June 11, I had laser eye surgery. It still kinda drives me crazy and makes me nervous as hell even though the operation seems to have been a success. I still have some minor crap to deal with... like those pesky eye drops that I seem to be dependent on. I'm just tired of feeling like my eyes constantly go back to being dry even though it's perfectly normal and my vision is tested at 20/15 by the optometrist for both eyes together.

I've worn glasses for about 11 years before getting this surgery and the very thought of getting laser eye surgery was quite scary to me but I've always been upset at having to wear glasses to ensure a "normal" vision. They can easily be knocked off, they get dirty and smudged very easily. The first step of my morning routine was finding them and I kept hoping that some day, my vision might magically get back to normal since I had heard that it may actually be theoretically possible... But as I got into my adult years, that secret wishful hope was steadily getting more and more feeble.

So, I heard that my local clinic's main headquarters were practiced in this kind of surgery, I got some information, they told me a lot of facts about me and kept telling me I seemed like what they considered a perfect patient.

The surgery in itself wasn't painful... just very uncomfortable and slightly scary but it was thankfully brief and they seemed to know their stuff.

The drops were probably the most annoying part... Some for medication, some for the burning(you don't really feel it as far as I can remember but those drops are important either way) and last but not least, the simple tear drops... manufactured tear drops.... To keeps the eyes hydrated.

Well, it's been three months and I no longer need any of those drops... except for the tear drops. Not everyone's eyes are alike and mine still get a little dry.

I'm looking forward to not feeling dependent to those things but, fortunately, they are just simple tear drops, nothing I could get addicted to. No drugs in them.

Well, now that I've gotten this off my chest, I'm not sure what to say. I don't regret getting this surgery, not at all. It still feels a little weird not having to look for my glasses in the morning when I get up but that feeling is fading away and it feels a lot less weird than during the first weeks of this lens-free vision.

Yes, the operation was very costly, I didn't do much shopping around but I still have a feeling that I made the right choice. Just don't ask me the price for it, some people have and it kinda bugged me when they did. I won't answer you if you ask me what it cost me.

Well, there you have it... I may have to replace my Avatar now that my glasses are no longer essential to my actual vision.
