Oh, I miss good Mickey Mouse cartoons... It's been so long. The words "straight to Disney DVD" scare me though... I'm pretty much afraid of watching something that will only come out on "Disney DVD"... whatever that means.

Now, now... I don't diss Gerald McBoingBoing... but I don't think he'll ever be as popular or classic as those Disney characters. The show's not bad, whether it's the new or old... It just isn't the same.

I mean, Walt Disney, whatever your opinions on the company or on the man itself... whether it was then or now... The man was a true pioneer of animation and helped lay the foundations on great animation. He pushed his artists so hard to make the best animation ever. I think he deserved all the praise he got. Although I'm not a big fan of all the stuff coming out of Disney or some of its latest CEO's... I still hold respect to the man and think that they still hire very talented people. Some of the big wigs just do some bad decisions sometimes.

Anyway, when I was a kid, the kings of cartoons were Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny... meaning Looney Tunes and the Disney gang... My favourite Disney character was Donald Duck and I started at a young age trying to replicate his famous voice.

Disney characters also tend to infiltrate some of my sketchbook pages. No reference used here... Although, I kinda wish I had used some for Minnie Mouse, I don't draw her often and even less than Mickey... I remembered almost nothing of what she looks like apart from having some high heeled shoes, a skirt and a bow on top of her head.

I drew Mickey with his famous suspender shorts. well, they might not have been shorts but I made them shorts

I didn't bother drawing Donald's sailor hat since 99% of my drawings of him I drew as a child all had that sailor hat on his head. And I also corrected his feet structure using another pencil... I used to pride myself in knowing that Daffy Duck had rounder palmed feet while Donald's were pointier. I was quite proud of having made that distinction between the two of them... Along with the other differences.

Goofy is just wearing some random clothes, being the random character that he is, haha... No pun intended, I really like Goofy too... aww shucks.

Let's not forget Pluto.

Why is there a horrible drawing of Gerald McBoingBoing at the top? I just felt like drawing Gerald's head... he's got such a strange shape for a head... It's kinda tricky to get right. I used to work at an animation studio that worked on the show. I worked on another show but to get a job there, I had to do some studio tests involving Gerald. I really did awful on the first parts of the test, thankfully I did better later on.
